Muhlenberg Institute of Public Opinion Ranks as Top College Pollster

As Managing Member of Twin Capital Management, LLC, David Simon is a leading New York City-based investment professional. Before founding Twin Capital more than 30 years ago, David Simon completed degrees at the University of Miami School of Law and Muhlenberg College, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Situated just one hour from Philadelphia and an hour and a half from New York City, Muhlenberg College is a well-known liberal arts college in Allentown, Pennsylvania. An interesting feature of the College is its polling center, which is called the Institute of Public Opinion.

Rated by FiveThirtyEight's Nate Silver as the No.1 college polling service in the country, Muhlenberg’s Institute of Public Opinion is also ranked ahead of many national news and network polling services, attaining the number 10 spot overall nationwide. Giving students lots of exposure to political campaigning and the role of public opinion in shaping policy, the Institute's polls are run in the field by Muhlenberg students.

About David Simon

David Simon founded Twin Capital Management in 1988, and nearly 30 years later he continues to manage capital for both institutional and high net worth investors. Under David Simon's executive leadership as the fund’s portfolio manager, Twin Capital survived the financial crisis of 2008 (the fund had positive performance that year) and continues to focus on generating absolute returns utilizing event driven strategies. Prior to launching his own hedge fund, Mr. Simon served as the head of risk arbitrage research at both Spear, Leeds & Kellogg and Mercury Securities. He began his career as a corporate lawyer after earning a JD from the University of Miami Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review and the Society of Wig and Robe and from which he graduated magna cum laude. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Muhlenberg College where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting. Beyond his professional pursuits, he's a passionate philanthropist who created his own charitable foundation to raise money for a variety of nonprofit organizations. Among other initiatives, he co-founded the Starlight Children's Foundation and the H.E.L.P. USA Westchester golf outings. He is a co-sponsor of the Solving Kids Cancer annual dinner as well as supports various other charitable organizations.
