David Simon, founder and CIO of Twin Capital Management, LLC, is an established hedge fund manager with over three decades of research and portfolio management experience. His investment philosophy is focused on achieving consistent risk-adjusted returns, regardless of the market environment. He directs a dedicated team of investment professionals who seek to build a portfolio comprised of event-driven opportunities that demonstrate the best risk/reward dynamics. Twin Capital specializes in the identification of equity securities that are undergoing transformational events such as corporate restructuring, spin-offs, and mergers and acquisitions, ultimately resulting in a change to underlying shareholder value.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Simon has achieved a number of distinctions in his field, including several HFM Week US Performance Awards for both Merger Arb and Long/Short Equity. According to HFM Week, the annual HFM US Hedge Fund Performance Awards are an evening of recognition and reward for those hedge funds and fund of hedge funds that have outperformed their peers over the past 12 months. He has also been quoted in international news publications such as the Wall Street Journal and the NY Times and made multiple appearances on CNBC. David Simon has a background in corporate law and attended the University of Miami School of Law graduating magna cum laude. He was a member of the school’s Law Review and practiced as a corporate attorney before transitioning to a career in finance.
Outside of his professional life, he is active with a variety of charitable organizations, such as Solving Kids’ Cancer and H.E.L.P. USA.
